Activities for Young Carers

The Carers Centre provides a range of activities and groups for Young Carers, including school holiday activities, creative workshops or our term-time after school sessions. These activities give Young Carers the opportunity to take a break from their caring role and build up their confidence and social network with other Young Carers.

Emotional support for Young Carers

The stress factors associated with having a caring role can have a profound effect on a Young Carer’s health, social life and self-confidence. Our team of professionals at The Carers Centre look at the support needs within the whole family and aim to reduce the impact of a caring role on children.

Activities for Adult Carers

The Carers Centre provides a range of peer-support groups and workshops for Adult Carers who live in the City of Brighton & Hove. These include coffee mornings and informative events on topics such as manual handling, first aid and coping with stress.

Emotional support for Adult Carers

Many carers can find themselves understandably overwhelmed by the pressures a caring role can bring. Perhaps they struggle to enjoy a life outside of caring or are impacted physically and emotionally by the role. The Carers Centre has experienced staff who are skilled at promoting resilience and empowering carers to take back their independence.
