Support

Support

We offer one to one support and information by telephone Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm. We know about local services and can save you time by answering your questions or pointing you in the right direction. The worker will ask you some basic details such as your name and address, date of birth and details about who you care for.

woman_speaking_on_telephoneIf you require more intensive support then we would allocate you a named person – a caseworker. This will normally consist of a series of 3 or 4 meetings which can take place at our offices, at home or via the telephone.

In between meetings the worker will follow up on any agreed actions. As well as the services we offer we can refer for other kinds of help such as counselling, money/welfare benefits help, specialist housing support and free legal advice.

There is a short waiting list for this service.

Advocacy

As part of our face to face work with carers we may be able to advocate on your behalf, or, support you to put your points to Health and Social Care Services or other agencies. To enable us to do this we would meet with you to hear about your situation and discuss your options. If you are unable to leave your cared-for-person we are usually able to make visits to see you at home.
