Young Carers are children and young people under the age of 18, who care for family member because of an illness or disability. It may be a parent, sibling, grandparent or a friend/neighbour who is in need of support.
Our Young Carers Project provides information, support, groups and activities. If you are a parent who wants to talk about what support we could offer then please call us.
If you are a young carer and want to talk to us please call us or use our email address. In most situations we will need to talk to the person you care for at some point but please don’t let that stop you from getting in touch for help and support.
What Do Young Carers Do?
Young Carers may be helping with domestic chores, looking after younger children, carrying out personal care, giving medication, talking with professionals and/or giving emotional support.
We work with young carers who live in Brighton and Hove. Our services are free to use and we are independent of statutory services.
Raising Awareness
The Project has made a film to show for schools and colleges to raise awareness of young carers. If you want to arrange for the film to be shown in your school please contact us.
