How The Young Carers Project
Can
Help
We offer help & support to families.
Young Carers have rights and are entitled to help and support. The Project will try to achieve two things.
- Firstly to find a way to reduce the amount of caring a child or young person has to do on a daily basis
- Secondly, we will try to reduce the impact that caring has on children & young people
When we are told about children who are young carers, the first thing we do is arrange to speak to the child or young person, with their family at their home. We listen to what the young carers and their families need and work out what help and support would make a difference.
Often by talking to the families, we find out about a range of problems such as:
- difficulties at school
- services are not in place for the person with the illness or disabilityWe are able to help by offering information and advice and by talking to schools, health or statutory services for you.
Remember Young carers have rights and are entitled to help and support in Brighton & Hove.
Young Carers often have similar situations going on at home, can feel stressed or confused by their caring responsibilities or have problems at schools or getting out to do stuff.
We can help you.
