  • Death Cafe

    Come and join us if you are interested in an open discussion about anything related to death and life! At our death cafe we offer non-judgemental space in which to have a safe, free flowing conversation about anything related to death.     We offer a tranquil growing space for current & bereaved carers to enjoy, or for enthusiastic volunteers to get involved with. Come along for tea, biscuits, breathtaking views of the Downs and Sea. Get involved in food growth, flower/seed planting, weeding, watering and fruit maintenance.     Do you care for someone who has had a stroke? Would you like to meet other carers and access specialist information on stroke and carers' services? We run a monthly group for Stroke Carers on the last Friday morning of each month from 10.30 - 12 noon in a central location.   • Duke of York's Dementia Friendly Screenings 'Some Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'

    Lorelei Lee (Marilyn Monroe) is a beautiful showgirl engaged to be married to the wealthy Gus Esmond (Tommy Noonan), much to the disapproval of Gus' rich father, Esmond Sr., who thinks that Lorelei is just after his money. 
     
    When Lorelei goes on a cruise accompanied only by her best friend, Dorothy Shaw (Jane Russell), Esmond Sr. hires Ernie Malone (Elliott Reid), a private detective, to follow her and report any questionable behavior that would disqualify her from the marriage.
    *Dementia-Friendly Screening: Open to all but especially for people with dementia and their family, friends and carers. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be on offer before the screening and there will be a 20-minute interval halfway through the film.
