This one day course arranged by Brighton and Hove City Council is designed to increase carers awareness of the possible injuries to themselves and to enable them to carry out transfer operations safely. This course includes informal discussions and practice in transfer techniques.

In the session we will be discussing what is meant by safer people handling, talk about the back and how it works, look at the legal and ethical responsibilities, identify potential barriers, we will also bee shown a range of current techniques and strategies for working with people requiring assistance with mobility, with the opportunity to use a range of handling equipment including hoists.
