Services for Young Carers

Young Carers Project supports children and young people aged 6-17 years, who are helping to care for someone in their family, with a disability, mental health condition, substance misuse issue or long-term illness.

Young Carers can access support, activities, fun days out and a range of services in Brighton & Hove.  For more information please contact the Project on 01273 746 222 or email us.

The Schools Work Project works with junior, primary, secondary and special schools across Brighton & Hove to raise awareness of the issues facing young carers.  We work with schools to help reduce the stigma of being a young carer, raise awareness and understanding for fellow pupils, teachers, support staff and parents, as well as advocating for young carers in schools and helping to identify more young carers throughout the city.  To speak to someone about our Schools Work please call 01273 746 222 or email at schools@thecarerscentre.org.

Young Carers might be supporting a parent or sibling who has sustained a physical and/or emotional injury whilst serving in the Armed Forces.  The young person may be supporting a parent or sibling who has a health issue whilst another family member is serving in the military.  For more information please contact the Project on 01273 746 222 or email us.
