Feeding into Brighton and Hove’s Carers Friendly City Strategy
Over the course of the day, we would like you to share your views on how our city can become a more supportive place for carers. As experts by experience, your participation will directly impact the refreshment of the Carer Friendly City Strategy for 2024.
Our city’s strategy revolves around four essential pillars: Education, Employment, Healthcare, and Social Care.
We want to hear your opinions about what is working well in these sectors and what could be improved. Your thoughts and experiences will be used to help shape the future direction of support for unpaid carers in Brighton and Hove.
In preparation for the day, here are the questions we will be asking.
Question 1
How would you improve the support offered by local education services? You might like to think about your experiences with primary and secondary schools, and higher education services.
Question 2
How would you improve the support offered by local health services? You might like to think about your experiences with GP surgeries, pharmacies, county hospitals and other community health services.
Question 3
How would you improve the support offered by local social care services? You might like to think about your experiences with home care services, personal assistants, assessment services.
Question 4
How would you improve the support offered by local employment services? You might like to think about DWP employment search, seeking benefits and advice for unpaid carers, unpaid carer policies at local employers.
Question 5
Based on your experiences, how would you improve integration across these services, to make life easier for carers?
