Do you provide unpaid care for a family member or friend who is aged 55 or over in the Brighton and Hove area? If so we have an opportunity that may be of interest to you!
We were delighted to welcome over 20 carers to our Carers Rights Day event on 24th November 2022. Carers were joined by staff from The Carers Centre along with Terry, Chief of Staff at NHS Sussex and 3 of his colleagues.
As part of Making Carers Count (a pan-Sussex project supporting carers from diverse backgrounds) we hosted a carer get together at Stanmer Park in Brighton.
We have now revised our Fact Sheet No 7 – Holidays and Breaks (November 2022). This gives a lot of information about holidays and breaks for carers and the people they look after, when going either together or separately.
Carers Rights Day 2022 Thursday 24 November is Carers Rights Day and this year’s theme is ‘Caring Costs’. As of September 2022 – carers aged 16+ can now book an additional COVID-19 booster vaccination. Young carers aged 5+ can also receive a seasonal booster if they live with someone who has a weakened immune system.
