Hello and welcome to Volunteering
at The Carers Centre for Brighton and Hove.

Thank you for showing an interest in volunteering with the Carers Reablement Project..

An introduction to Reablement

The Carers Reablement Project, operated by The Carers Centre offers unpaid carers in the Brighton and Hove area an opportunity to learn a new skill, hobby or receive support to attend a local group or class.

I feel much less isolated after using the project, I previously had no support and I’m now in a much better position. I feel more confident to ask for it and know what is out there.

The aim of the Carers Reablement Project is to support unpaid carers, assisted by volunteers, to achieve positive changes in their lives, by setting goals and reaching clearly defined outcomes. These  outcomes will aim to improve the health and or wellbeing or the Carer.

What a nice kind man. He made me feel at ease, was encouraging and patient.

The Carers Reablement Project matches the skills, experience and knowledge of our volunteers to the specific needs of the carer. Some examples of previous success stories include support to go to a gym, one to one support to learn how to use a computer, attend a book group, learn to cook or take up a new sport.

My health and wellbeing has definitely improved, my partner noticed the difference and I felt very good and light.

The project offers unpaid carers a few weeks where they have the opportunity to learn a new skill or interest for themselves.

What a nice kind man. He made me feel at ease, was encouraging and patient.
